3rd Year Law Students
CONGRATULATIONS upon successfully completing the first two years of law school. Now that you are a third year student, it is a great time for you to figure out what has worked and what hasn’t worked for you during law school. It is particularly good for you to make a realistic assessment of your academic needs now because you will be taking the bar exam upon graduation.
At The Skillman MethodTM we believe almost every student can pass the bar exam on the first try 1) if he/she knows how to prepare effectively and 2) if he/she has perfected his/her exam skills. We are here to support your success.
The Skillman MethodTM courses will give you an advantage. The Skillman MethodTM offers study skills’ courses, exam writing courses, substantive law courses, bar courses, and private tutoring. The Skillman MethodTM takes the mystery out of the bar exam by teaching critical skills.
We suggest that you take the online Basic Exam Course for law students while you are a law student. Given the information in the course and your experiences in law school, you can better address issues that you may have with respect to time management, reading, outlining, and exam-taking. The course is enlightening.
The Basic Exam Course includes three classes, "How to Excel in Law School," "How to Outline Law School Courses," and "Exam Writing, Legal Analysis & The Exam Writing TemplatesTM." It takes approximately eight hours to watch the course.
Once you have taken The Basic Exam Course, you can enroll in The Advanced Exam-writing Course which meets via teleconference. During classes, actual student papers are critiqued line-by-line, using the information taught in The Basic Exam Course. Plus, each student meets privately with a faculty member via teleconference for two hours of individual instruction.
The course meets three times for two hours per class. Students may turn in ten essays for written feedback from faculty. If you are in your last semester of law school, we advise you to enroll in The Basic Bar Preparation Course, rather than The Basic Course for law students. The description of the bar preparation course is on the web page for bar candidates.
Private tutoring is available to students who have taken The Basic Exam Course. Students must purchase either a five or ten hour block of faculty time for private tutoring. Private tutoring is offered via teleconference.
We want you to succeed. So please take advantage of our Free Online Video Course, "Linear Thinking – How to Get As." The course was filmed at Vanderbilt University School of Law.
