2nd Year Law Students

Congratulations upon successfully completing your first year of law school. Now that you are a second year student, it is a good time for you to assess which study methods and exam skills worked for you and which need improvement.

Second Year Tune Up

Since first year performance is a strong indicator of whether you will pass or fail the bar exam on your first attempt, the second year of law school is a good time for an “academic tune up.” In the second year, you have less pressure and more time to perfect your study and exam-taking skills. We can help.

At The Skillman MethodTM, we believe that most students could get As, if they knew how to prepare effectively for classes and for exams. The Skillman courses take the mystery out of law school by teaching students a sophisticated approach for excelling in law school.

Why Choose The Skillman MethodTM?

The Skillman MethodTM courses will give you an advantage. With the Skillman courses, our students learn critical study skills, reading skills, and time management. Further, Skillman students learn how to outline substantive law courses effectively, how to gauge progress, and how to write an answer any law school essay and respond to multiple-choice questions.

For thirty years, The Skillman MethodTM has taken the mystery out of law school by teaching critical study skills. The Skillman MethodTM offers study skills’ courses, exam writing courses, substantive law courses, bar courses, and private tutoring.

The Basic Exam Course is offered online 24/7. The course includes three classes, including "How to Excel in Law School," "How to Outline Law School Courses," and "Exam Writing, Legal Analysis & The Exam Writing TemplatesTM."

Once you have taken The Basic Exam Course, you can enroll in The Advanced Exam Writing Course. The Advanced Exam Writing Course meets via teleconference for three two-hour classes. During classes, actual student papers are critiqued line-by-line, using the information from The Basic Exam Course.

Students in the course receive critical feedback on their own essays answers. Every student may submit ten essays for written feedback from faculty. Plus, each student meets privately with a faculty member via teleconference for two hours of private instruction.

Private Tutoring

Private tutoring is available to students who have taken The Basic Exam Course. Students must purchase either five or ten hours block of faculty time for private tutoring. Private tutoring is offered via teleconference.
